mpTrim

There are three main things the mpTrim application can do for you: trim, fade in/out, amplify. If the MP3 is too large, if there are sections that you want to remove, you can do that with the application’s trim function. If the MP3 starts or ends abruptly, you can fix it with the fade in/out function. And last but not least, if the MP3’s volume is too low, you can change it with the amplify function.

To get started with mpTrim, you do not have to install anything. You need only download an archive, extract the executable inside, then run it. The fact that it does not have to be installed means that mpTrim is portable. Put it on a USB stick and take it with you.

All the functionality mpTrim has to offer is presented on its interface. From top to bottom, on the interface, you will see the following three sections: Information (presents a bit of info on the MP3 file you load), How much do you want to trim (select and preview the bit you want to trim), and Volume Control (lower or amplify the volume, fade in or out).

Using mpTrim is a simple 3-step process: load the MP3 you want to edit, choose to trim it or adjust its volume, save the result. The whole process will go along smoothly and rapidly – rapidly because mpTrim is quite easy to use and also because it does its job very fast. You see, mpTrim works directly in the MP3 format, it does not have to decode or re-encode the MP3. This means it can do its job very fast.

You can use mpTrim for free for as long as you want. The application is freeware.
